Divine's Journey

An ordinary woman walking through life simply striving to do extraordinary things through self growth, deeds, actions, ideas, and my writing.

I began this blog as more of a personal journey, in that; I wanted to write what was on my mind or heart at any given moment. Being of an eclectic personality, this blog is dedicated to the niche` of me.  You will find poetry, short stories, and journal style posts on a broad range of subjects that somehow is touching or has touched me in some way. Some posts might end up sarcastic or humorous while others come across as poignant and reflective Bottom line is, it’s all me, complexity undefined.

I grew up outside of Chicago, Illinois in a home fueled by dysfunction, neglect, and alcoholism. This has greatly impacted me as an adult in many positive and negative ways. I recognize my flaws and believe in change and its possibilities for me and others. I also believe in hope for the future and pressing towards dreams. This weblog serves as one of the steps upon my journey. How; by allowing me to evaluate, reflect, share, evolve, and practice honesty with the world at large, all while living my childhood dream to be a writer. A blog can be cathartic and mine certainly reflects this.

My roles in life are many; mother, daughter, sister,wife, student, tutor, volunteer, survivor, friend, and writer. But for the record these roles are not me, they are parts of me.  I learned a long time ago, roles are not the person, they are things the person does, only reflecting the behavior due each role. I am that I am- meaning I am more than even I believe myself to be, as are you.

All things said and considered, I cannot promise you any one specific concentration or topic to this blog. I can, however; let you know it is always written solely by me and reflects the complexity of my  being. Some days you may find many posts and other times you may find I do not post for a few weeks, don't fret though, I always return.
